Hi there! I am Jessica Gorbett, a Senior Web UX Developer with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts in graphic design, web development experience, user experience certification, and emerging leadership skills.
I specialize in strategic web planning, CMS maintenance, responsive web design, process automation, and optimizing online forms. My professional career began in January 2018 as a student worker, where I started working for public safety to render a campus map. Gradually, I took on more responsibilities, and by the time I graduated, I advanced to a Web Developer III role, creating web and form designs for a division of 24 departments and continuing to evolve since.
I am proud to reliably deliver experiences that meet user needs while balancing business objectives. My success is attributed to the sponsorship of several individuals who recognized my reliability, innovation, and dedication to service, which led to accelerated growth in my career.
Recently, I transitioned from a management role to focus on strategic endeavors and professional growth as a technical lead in a new organization. I am thrilled to be part of the new momentum at Texas Southern University, bringing forth my years experience in higher education.
What makes me different?
CliftonStrengths is a personal development tool that identifies an individual's top talents to enhance personal and professional growth. My top strengths are:
I recognize the unique qualities in others and tailor my approach to fit their individual needs.
I excel at solving problems, bringing a practical and solution-oriented mindset to challenges.
I have a visionary outlook, often thinking ahead and inspiring others with my forward-thinking ideas.
I seek to make a meaningful impact, driven by a desire to be recognized for my contributions.
I set clear goals and maintain concentration, ensuring progress and productivity in my endeavors.
As a user experience professional, I use my portfolio to experiment with new tools and different resources. This approach has proven effective, as my previous Bootstrap-styled portfolio benefits my current role. I am now using this portfolio to dive into Webflow, which may result in clunky code and potential accessibility issues as I learn this new tool.
